Not Finishing for NaNo and Other Grown-up Decisions

It's obvious that I won't be able to finish Aerie by the end of November because I've got other things I have to take care of.

But I want to finish Aerie for ME.  I haven't finished a story in so long, and I would like to stop holding myself back.  I'm still writing Aerie as much as time allows.  It's a great trilogy and I want to share it with people.  Hopefully, they find it as cool as I do.  I was talking to one of my friends about the story, and she liked it because she said it totally plays on the emotional turmoil of its characters.

I do credit NaNo with kicking my ass in gear to try original writing and writing in general again.

I am going to finish Aerie.  I am going to finish the trilogy.  Even if it kills me.

As a side note, I still haven't given up on my fanfic totally.  I may have mentioned this before, but if I know I'm not going to finish them, I will be posting the spoiler endings to all of the series except The XYZ Affair.

Don't get me started on the OOC moments in Freak Nation (and not just OOC, but stupid too, like there's just a guy in the whole word you can kill with just a touch or a hair and where do you go for a picture? Meh), so I totally understand the need to write things your way, lol. Plus I think you did a very good job with the friendship between Max and Alec: reading fics I often have the feeling there's like a gap, a big hole in their relationship no writers want to fill, from no more than frienemies to lovers, and not just lovers, but the I'm-in-love-with-you-you're-my-whole-world-I-would-die-if-something-happens-to-you kind of lovers, but Max and Alec were friend at the end of the show (well, bar FN "been there, done there" >_< ) and in my own personal DA world they stayed friends for a lot of time after the finale before something happened between them - yes, in this Da world of mine they're together now and have lots of cute transgenic kids :P

And thanks for the update on your fics :)

Well, rest assured that Max and Alec don't utter the words "love" anywhere in regards to each other in Wake... I'm really working on building their friendship angle into a reluctant romance. I am going pretty slow with them, but that's because there's supposed to be one more story in the series after Wake. :P Some people get frustrated that I don't just put them together then have them deal with stuff as a couple, but that's not how I see it playing out.
