Just Another 48 Hours Commentary

When I started Just Another 48 Hours, it was supposed to be a stand alone piece but I had another story idea and realized that they would be a great support for each other. For years it bothered me that they just jumped from the speech to the flag scene, in which about 2 days pass. Suddenly, Max and Logan were back together and they were stating their independence. But ideologically, it feels like a lot of things were left out. You don't just jump from point A to B without some sort of explanation (or an entire season break). So I decided to fill in the blanks for myself.
I also didn't want to downplay Logan's role in the situation, because he was a very important character and I wanted to end on the same scene as the finale. I don't want to give too much away about how the other chapters will go, especially since they're all foreshadowing to what's to come as well. Don't over-analyze anything you read trying to look for clues though, it spoils the fun but they're there if you want them. Besides, it's still early things can change while I write it.
Ah, yes, the as yet untitled but ever elusive Sequel. Like I said, I've got a busy schedule and I'm trying to wrap up Just Another 48 Hours before I can start this one. I had posted a synopsis earlier on my ff.net profile, but later took it down... But one of the main features is that I was watching 'Pollo Loco' and realized that Logan called Lydecker on Max and Ben, which led them to being cornered and inevitably Max having to kill her brother.
'Pollo Loco' was one of my favorite episodes because it showed that not all of Max's siblings made it out of that trauma sane. Ben's character was just how I envisioned a brainwashed, abused child to react to being thrown out into the world with no guidance. I never saw why this got brushed under the rug, it was obviously a very deep and sensitive issue.
Plus Logan called the one person who made their lives hell on them without giving Max much of a chance to solve the problem (yes, I know a serial killer brother is dangerous, but she was handling it all be it badly). Ben was disturbed and it was tragic to see it happen. If that's not betrayal, I don't know what is. So I've decided to dig that skeleton up. From the way the show went, it's apparent that Logan was unaware of what Max had to do, nor did Max know the role Logan played in it. I know couples have secrets, but this one proved that they didn't work in my book.
There is also my issue with needing to redeem Zack after the 'Some Assembly Required' fiasco, but the details of that are as yet unclear. He was one of my favorites and that was an undignified exit. The cure, White and all of our usual suspects will be back. Make of that statement what you will.
For the record, this is the story of how TC, not Max and Alec, comes together.
I'm also posting on a weekly basis trying to stall for time to finish it. I don't like waiting long for updates, so I'm trying to be courteous.
That's all for now. Hope people are enjoying the story.
